An unofficial strike by Lindsey oil refinery workers continued yesterday. More than 1,200 engineering construction workers walked out in protest at a subcontractor cutting jobs. The huge refinery processes more than 220,000 barrels of crude oil each day. The refinery has previously been the scene for walkouts related to the hiring of foreign labour over British workers.

It sounds very unfair. Yanks can come over here and work, but we can't work over there! Where's the justice in that? I'm determined Solidarity will grow and get stronger and stronger. We can all do our bit. I regularly go out delivering Solidarity Recruitment leaflets - just one way of spreading the word.
