The Solidarity Trade Union called this week for construction companies involved with a secret blacklist, which stopped thousands of people from finding work to be put in the dock.
The call came after Knutsford Crown Court heard that some of Britain's biggest consturction firms used a database of 3,213 workers to vet potential employees. Ian Kerr, who administered the list, was fined £5,000 for offences under the Data Protection Act. He had pleaded guilty in May. He was also ordered to pay costs of £1,187.
David Durant of the Solidarity Executive said:-
"We're angry that those who gave Kerr his information and those who used it have not been brought to book. The companies involved are really responsible. They should now be prosecuted."
