2,000 National Express workers have staged a 48-hour walkout to force Bosses into talks about pay. Managers have been reduced to running a token ghost service on a few lines in a desperate bid to undermine the action in the establishment media.
Workers voted by more than nine to one to take industrial action, which will carry on for the next three Thursdays and Fridays if Bosses continue to refuse to negotiate.
National Express have been in the press recently for walking away from the East Coast mainline. They admitted losing £20 million in the first six months of running the East Coast Main Line. Under British Rail the route was known as 'the Diamond Line'. The mismanagement of National Express and their poor treatment of staff has led to calls for all of their franchises to be returned to public ownership.
